The Zen Series was the brain child of co-creator Andrew Pope. Prior to creating
this amazing break-through, Andrew has had a string of lifelong successes
beginning with noted accomplishments in school. Just to mention a few, Andrew
graduated close to the top of his class as an undergraduate and in business
school both at Ivy-league schools. He had several successful stints as a
management consultant turning around poorly managed businesses, raising capital
for start-ups, and serving as the youngest member of the boards of advisors to
several companies including a few Hollywood production companies. Andrew,
however, found himself lacking in the area of life that he was beginning to
think was the most important – that is: attracting, dating, and connecting with
super attractive, young, cool, smart, interesting women. Andrew’s dating career
was dismal. When he finally got the attention of beautiful women, he was
instantly cast into the dreaded “friend” category. Andrew was determined to
change this aspect of his life. After studying dozens of books on dating,
relationships, conversation, sex and love – almost all of which Andrew found to
be astonishingly poorly written and researched – Andrew determined that someone
had to make a “scientific” study of dating and attraction and apply the
principles of social psychology, cultural mores, and life-long experience to the
real world of dating. This reality is created by throngs of women who read
magazines like Cosmo as if they were the “Bible.” This is a dating environment
that can be extraordinarily harsh, especially for a “nice” guy like Andrew.
It was nearly five years ago that Andrew made it his life
project to “study” the process of attraction. Andrew knew that in life things
happen for a reason, not by chance. It is obvious that Tommy Lee (and other rock
stars), George Clooney (and other rich, famous movie star-heart throbs), Donald
Trump (and other grossly wealthy womanizers) always have had, and always will
have their pick of the world’s most beautiful and extraordinary women. But what
Andrew set out to determine was what an average-looking guy like himself – who
was not famous, who was not wealthy – could do to attract and date really
beautiful and extraordinary women.
Andrew knew that the best way to speed up this learning
process, as in any area, is to find a “mentor.” Find someone who already
possesses the skills that Andrew hoped to master. Study that person – study what
they do, how they do it. See what that person does that works and try to learn
those skills and apply them. Forget Trump, Lee, and Clooney – they don’t need
skills. The search for this mentor was not difficult for Andrew; his college
buddy Dean George Kennedy was one of the most successful men he had ever seen.
On campus, Dean was notorious. Women were always talking about him. He dated the
most attractive girls in college. Guys would vie for his friendship – they knew
he was the ultimate wingman. His success with women continued far intohis
post-graduate years until he recently fell in love with and married an amazing
woman.
When Andrew called Dean to “pitch” the idea of co-authoring
the Zen Series they met at a hip sushi restaurant. As the stunningly hot, bitchy
hostess sat them at a table Dean shot her a smile and she blushed. In one
instant Dean had turned her from hot-bitchy-hostess to embarrassed school-girl.
Andrew thought “that never happens to me.” This was the guy Andrew had to study.

Dean grew up in Manhattan, attended an Ivy-league university and has had a
successful career as a stock-broker. Dean is the type of guy who walks into a
room with a contagious smile, outstretched arms, and instantly makes new
friends. As good as his skills are for making business contacts, he is an
absolute “babe magnet.” Dean does not have tons of cash, he is good looking but
not a model (he is not the type of guy who turns women’s heads when he walks
into a room). Dean is not an aggressive overbearing macho guy. He has a quiet
confidence and the ability to make friends in almost any situation. Dean can
instantly turn a simple conversation with a woman instantly into a flirting
session. He just intuitively knows how to create chemistry with almost any woman
he meets, from the middle-aged grocery clerk to the hottest, bitchiest hostess
at the hippest new restaurant. Dean is a super-nice guy, but never falls into
the “friend trap.” Rather, friends of the girls Dean dated vied for his
attention–and not as “friends.” Dean loves the chase, and always has. He devoted
much of his high-school, college, and post-grad years to it. He is now happily
married to the sweetest, most beautiful surgeon we have ever met and they have a
two-year old boy. Dean has always been an educator at heart – never before as a
profession, but he has always enjoyed teaching and helping others develop
skills. Dean has taught numerous seminars in financial planning, taught
after-school math and English programs to underprivileged school kids, was a
soccer coach and is a huge fan of the self-improvement gurus like Tony Robbins,
Stephen Covey, etc. Dean had always had in the back of his mind that he would
like to author a “self-improvement” book. It was not until Andrew “pitched” the
Zen Series idea to him that he saw dating as the subject matter in which he
could contribute.

Cameron is a 31-year old marketing and promotions guru residing in Los Angeles.
She was born in the mid-west, but has traveled extensively world-wide as a model
for top brands and agencies. Cam gave up modeling to pursue a degree in
marketing and communications from UCLA, where she was Vice President of her
graduating class and President of her sorority. Since graduating, she has worked
in brand management and marketing for two major clothing designers and one
